About Us

Hi, my name is Jill. My biggest passion is travel and adventure and I enjoy spending a tremendous amount of time outdoors. I’ve traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and around the world to hike, bike, and explore different cultures. These journeys have influenced my life, shaped my goals, both professionally and personally, and helped me to become the person I am today. Travel, when done right, often exposes you to new friends, great experiences, and amazing ideas.

As I have moved around the world I have come to realize the power of the great outdoors and how, more than anything, Mother Nature not only nurtures and heals my soul, but also fills my heart with gratitude. I so appreciate the opportunity to be able to step away from the details of everyday life to spend time outdoors where I feel free and creative, joyful and blessed. My thoughts and my heart are open to experiencing just what this world has to offer both physically, mentally and spiritually. That philosophy, to be open to possibility, always travels with me.

My husband and I are avid hikers back home in Durango, Colorado, however, we discovered eNZees Foot Soother halfway across the globe while trekking in a beautiful part of New Zealand's Southern Alps on a trail called the Routeburn Track. During the pre-hike orientation meeting prior to our 27-mile trek, our hiking leader recommended that we bring some of the local wool fleece with us, in case we encountered foot problems along the way. Sure enough, the next day on the trail, I began to notice hot spots building under my toes. As our trek leader had suggested, I took a moment to apply the wool fleece around and under the problem area.

I was amazed that within 30-minutes, the hot spot disappeared. That evening when I removed my boot and sock, my toe was soft and totally pain-free.

Though I have hiked throughout the US and abroad for decades, I wondered how a solution as miraculous as this all-natural fleece was nowhere to be found in North America. That evening at dinner, we shared our foot and wool experience with a couple of friendly fellow hikers. As fate would have it, we learned that this couple were 5th generation New Zealand sheep ranchers who were aware of the benefits of the fleece and its curative lanolin.

How to prevent blisters. Jill Schuman founder of eNZees Foot Soother all-natural blister preventionFrom that chance meeting high in the mountains of New Zealand, the vision of eNZees Foot Soother was born. After many months of research and testing of numerous types of wool from many different ranches, we were lucky enough to connect with a sheep breeder on the South Island of New Zealand. This relationship has resulted in a consistent source of high quality soft wool from pure-bred organic sheep that forms the basis of eNZees Foot Soother.

Since then, eNZees Foot Soother has been tested and proven by a wide variety of hikers, athletes of all types, walkers of all ages, and active professionals. From the trails in New Zealand, to the high mountains of Colorado, from the Appalachian Trail to the urban sidewalks of Rome and Manhattan, eNZees Foot Soother is helping provide foot relief, step by step!

We love how eNZees Foot Soother has helped save our soles (and toes, too). And we hope you'll let us help you bring more comfort to yours as well. A trip is far, far better with happy feet.  We’d love to hear how you’ve used eNZees Foot Sootherr - send us pictures or stories of your latest adventure!
